Face Invaders

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data the virtual reality game Face Invaders ("the game") collects, why, and how you can have it deleted. The game is made and published by Driment Studio ("we", "us"), which is responsible for this data (the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). Contact: drimentstudio@gmail.com.

In short: the game collects and processes personal data only through Meta's platform services on Meta Quest - your User ID, User Profile (display name), Friends and Deep Linking information - for achievements, leaderboards and checking that you own the game. Achievements and leaderboard entries are stored on Meta's servers; your progress is saved on your headset. We run no servers, analytics, advertising or accounts of our own.

1. On your headset

The game saves your progress on your headset: your best scores, achievements and their progress, the items you have unlocked, a run you left to continue later, and your settings (such as volumes, turning, haptics and your height). The save never leaves your device; clearing the game's data or uninstalling the game deletes it.

To play, the game reads the position of your headset and controllers and your button presses in real time; it does not record or send them. It does not use the microphone, cameras, eye tracking or hand tracking.

2. Data collected through Meta's platform

On Meta Quest the game uses Meta's platform services (the Meta Horizon Platform SDK), which Meta provides under its own Privacy Policy. Through them the game collects exactly these four kinds of data:

The achievements you unlock, with their progress, appear in Meta Horizon. When you reach a new best score, it is submitted to the game's leaderboards with your User ID; other players see your name, rank and score. These records are stored on Meta's servers. The game does not keep your User ID, profile, friends or deep-link information in its save, and sends them nowhere except to Meta's platform services. We see the leaderboard entries, achievement progress and aggregate statistics (such as sales numbers) in Meta's developer tools. We never receive your e-mail address, real name, contacts, location, payment details, voice or camera images.

Legal basis: providing the game and the features you use in it (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

3. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data, and we use no data processors or service providers for it. The only parties involved are Meta, which runs the platform services, and other players, who see your name and best score on the leaderboards.

We disclose data to public authorities only where the law requires it: we review each request for its legality, challenge it where we consider it unlawful, disclose only the minimum necessary, and document every request together with our response.

4. Security

We keep no copy of this data on servers of our own: it is processed on your headset and by Meta's platform services, which Meta secures. We access the game's leaderboards and achievements only through Meta's developer tools, with an account protected by a strong password and two-factor authentication, and only to run the game and to handle requests such as deletion.

5. How long the data is kept

6. How to delete your data

You can ask at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason:

  1. Send an e-mail to drimentstudio@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data - Face Invaders" and your Meta display name as it appears on the game's leaderboards.
  2. We check that the request comes from the holder of that account, for example by asking for a detail only you can see in the game, such as your best score.
  3. Within 30 days we delete all your entries from the game's leaderboards and reset your achievement progress in the game through Meta's developer tools, and reply to confirm it. We keep no other data about you.

You can delete your save yourself by clearing the game's data or uninstalling the game. Your User ID, profile and friends belong to your Meta account, which you manage or delete through Meta (Meta Help Center).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format: write to the same address. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - in Poland the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl) - or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

8. Children

The game is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game's online features, contact us and we will delete their leaderboard entries and achievement progress.

9. Changes and contact

If the game starts using data in a new way, or moves to a company, we will update this policy and its date before that version of the game is released. Our website and e-mail are covered by our general privacy policy.
